SIBSPlace on Broadway in Hewlett held its annual holiday party on Dec. 19. The three-hour event included a show, dinner, gifts and a visit from a special seasonal celebrity.
Connected with South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, SIBSPlace was create to help children who have brothers and sisters with cancer or another devastating illness. They expanded its mission to include kids who have a parent with a devastating diagnosis.
Through a variety of educational activities and assistance from professional staff, the children’s emotional needs are met and they are taught to develop coping skills that will help them throughout their lives.
