St. Joseph's Church statue victim of criminal mischief

Police are looking for three young men who allegedly wrapped the Virgin Mary statue outside St. Joseph’s R.C. Church on Broadway in Hewlett with green-, red- and black-colored tape at noon last Saturday.

Three juveniles were seen carrying rolls of tape and they fled through the parking lot headed north toward Noel Avenue, police said. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-(800) 244-8477. All calls are confidential.
