Inwood resident Marcus Saint-Furcy, a New York Institute of Technology junior, was one of 133 student-athletes to achieve at least a 3.2 grade-point average for the spring semester. Furcy, a guard who was also named to the East Coast Athletic Conference honor roll, will be a part of the school’s Athletic Directors Honor Roll luncheon on Oct. 4 in Recreation Hall.

Joining Furcy in earning NYIT academic honors is fellow Inwood resident Joseph Curcio, who along with Ariel Steinlauf of Lawrence were named to the school’s Presidential Honor list. To qualify students must attain a GPA of 3.7 or higher. Both are majoring in computer science.

Daniela Slepak, from Hewlett, is part of Lehigh University class of 2020, which includes students from 44 U.S. states and 43 international countries and territories. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Yisroel Grabie and David Hirsch, both from Cedarhurst, and Jonathan Aivazi of Woodmere, were three of the 295 new medical students at the NYITCOM Long Island (Old Westbury) campus who received their white coats at a ceremony at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury on Aug. 15.
