Taking a hike to support the Israeli soldiers

Posted

More than 250 people strolled on the Atlantic Beach boardwalk to show their support for Israel Defense Force troops, especially the lone soldiers and raised $26,000 during the annual Package From Home walk-a-thon on July 31.
Lone soldiers are personnel serving in the IDF who do not have immediate family in Israel. They are typically immigrants, orphans or Israeli-born and estranged from their families.
In addition to the money raised, there was a donation box where travel size toothpaste, toothbrushes, stick deodorant, chapstick/lip balm, shampoo, moisturizer, baby and/or medicated powder, medicated bandages and new sweat stocks were collected for the soldiers.
