Temple and town remember Reagan’s visit

With David Friedman, the son of Rabbi Morris Friedman, serving as the U.S. ambassador to Israel in President Donald Trump’s administration, it is a good time to remember a previous president’s visit to Temple Hillel in North Woodmere, where Rabbi Friedman was the spiritual leader.

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan ate dinner at the Friedman home and took part in the synagogue’s services. To commemorate that visit, temple and Town of Hempstead officials dedicated a plaque that marks the occasion.
