Mostly Cloudy Town recognizes Woodmere firefighter

Michael Sauer, a 20-year veteran of the volunteer Woodmere Fire Department, was honored by the Town of Hempstead for his community service.
Sauer could not attend the event, but his sons, Joseph and Nicholas, accepted the recognition medal on his behalf. The senior Sauer not only has his sons interested in firefighting, but also chairs the fundraising committee, and spearheads an array of important initiatives for the Woodmere department.
