A fire at 962 Allen Lane in Woodmere destroyed a two-car garage and the two vehicles inside.

A detached two-car garage in the back of a house at 962 Allen Lane in Woodmere was destroyed along with two cars during a fire that began at 10 p.m. on May 22, according to fire officials.
The Woodmere, Hewlett, Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Meadowmere Park, Inwood and Valley Stream fire departments responded to the scene less than 10 minutes later. Firefighters from those departments got the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes.
There were no injuries. The siding of the home suffered minor damage, firefighters said. Lynbrook’s fire department was activated to stand by for Woodmere in case of another call.
