Mostly Cloudy Vehicle crashes into Sherwood Diner, hits two other vehicles

After losing control of her Ford SUV, following what officials said was a medical emergency, a woman crashed into the Sherwood Diner and then struck two other vehicles.

A woman, who was driving a Ford sport utility vehicle, suffered a medical emergency, according to officials at the scene, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the Sherwood Diner on Rockaway Turnpike in Lawrence at 8:30 a.m. on July 5.
Her vehicle struck one car than came to rest on top of another vehicle in the parking lot. The woman was treated for her hypoglycemia and minor injuries at the scene. There was damage to the diner and the two vehicles.
The Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department and Nassau County Police responded to the scene.
