Polling places open in usual sites

Election Day in the Five Towns is filled with confusion for some residents, but voters can vote at their regular polling places.

Lawrence Middle School and Lawrence High School are open for voting, along with Village in Hall in Atlantic Beach.

In addition, Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order that permits voters who can't make it to their normal polling place on Election Day, today, Tuesday, Nov. 6, to vote at any polling site in the state.

Voters using alternate polling sites will cast an affidavit ballot affirming that they are registered to vote in one of New York's federally declared disaster counties – Nassau, Suffolk, New York City, Westchester and Rockland, Cuomo stated in a release.

Voters should attempt to cast ballots at their regular polling place, the governor added.
