Weins’ Pie Party at Woodmere firehouse raises nearly $20,000

The Wien family of Woodmere held their second annual Pie Party and Bake Off to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society at the Woodmere firehouse on March 25.

Kasey Wein was 13-months old when

she was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia – a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Following several years of chemotherapy, Kasey is now a healthy16-year-old.

Mike Hammer won the pie eating contest, in the bake off, Nicole Sellino repeated as having the best tasting dessert, Ariel Mor won best non-dessert, most creative went to Joanna Greenberg and Amanda Greene, and Ricki Harwin and Dana Kahati and Katie Hochberg and Vanessa Collins tied for most poplar pie. Approximately $20,000 was raised.
