Ann Schockett, from Woodmere, is in the running to become president of the National Federation of Republican Women for the 2020-2021 term after this year’s nominating committee unanimously agreed on their choices for the leadership offices. The election for the next term’s officers will be held at the 40th biennial convention in Indianapolis in September.

The Federation, founded in 1938 and headquartered in Virginia, is designed to help train and elect GOP candidates, promote the ideals and policies of the Republican party and provide a forum for women to serve in different leadership positions within different political arenas. Women registered as Republicans that are interested in joining can become a member of their local club or obtain a national at-large membership.
