Fifth- and sixth-grade social studies teachers in the Franklin Square Elementary School District took part in a review of their subject standards in a workshop on Aug. 31. In planning lessons, the teachers follow a blueprint in which they have students asking supporting questions and providing detailed responses, or evidence, as their answers.
