Despite temperatures that hovered in the high 40s and low 50s, and a steady, at times hard-blowing wind, the ninth annual Robbie’s Run went off without a hitch on April 27, drawing participants from across Long Island and beyond.

That’s the hope of Merokean Jill Levine, executive director of Forever Nine: the Robbie Levine Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises funds to equip school ball fields with AEDs and provide CPR/AED training to youth sports organizations.

Kayla Babbush, a sophomore at Kennedy High School in Bellmore, has been working with the Robbie Levine Foundation to bring free CPR/AED training to the Central High School District. The Robbie Levine Foundation was created by Dr. Craig and Jill Levine of Merrick, whose 9-year old son Robbie died suddenly when his heart stopped at a baseball practice in 2005.
