Oceanside first-year wrestling coach Julio Flores knew he had two strong 106-pound entries in last Saturday’s Nassau County Qualifying Tournament hosted by Garden City, where the best-case scenario played out for the Sailors when sophomores Mike Fishman and Vinny Candela maneuvered their way into the finals.

The 2013-14 Nassau County hockey campaign has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for Oceanside, which enters its Liberty Division regular-season finale Thursday at 9 p.m. against Wantagh/Seaford at Bethpage Ice Skating Rink with a .500 record and a spot in the playoffs already locked.
