Daisy Denenberg, mother of Nassau County Legislator David Denenberg and two other children, who later in life started a career as a psychologist, earning her doctorate at 51 and working in local schools and then her own practice, died on Nov. 15 after a short battle with cancer. She was 77. more

A place for veterans to receive care

Three years ago, a community outpatient clinic for veterans opened at the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. The 11,000-square-foot space, in the hospital’s Building Q, offers primary care and mental health services. The hospital lends the space to the county rent-free. more
