During its March 26 concert at South Side Middle School, the South Shore Symphony Orchestra will perform the Long Island premier of a work by Ethan D’Ver, a high school senior from Forest Hills. His mother, Sue D’Ver, has played the viola with the South Shore Symphony for years.

South Shore Symphony to present old favorites — and a L.I. premier

he South Shore Symphony Orchestra, under the musical direction of Scott Jackson Wiley, will perform at South Side Middle School on March 26 at 8 p.m. The 65-member orchestra will play Moussorgsky-Ravel’s “Pictures at an Exhibition,” “Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7” as well as “Brooklyn-Bound F Train” in the Long Island premier of a piece by Ethan D’Ver that was performed by the New York Philharmonic during its School Day Concert series last May. more
