Residents of Rockville Centre voted in favor of the $122.86 million budget for the 2020-21 school year, which passed by a vote of 3,629 to 2,275. The budget represents a tax levy increase of 2.01 percent, is under the tax cap, and keeps all current programs. more
There are four candidates running for two seats on the Rockville Centre Board of Education. The three-year term will begin on July 1. All residents will be mailed absentee ballots, which must be returned to the district clerk by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9. There will be a ballot box outside the administration building at 128 Shepherd St. during business hours for those who wish to drop off their ballots instead of mailing them in. more

For the past three months, the Rockville Centre Board of Education and administration have been fine-tuning the 2020-21 school district budget, and were prepared to move forward with a public discussion last week. The budget vote and school board election, however, have been delayed until at least June 1 because of the coronavirus pandemic, by an executive order issued by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
