Gaughran bids farewell to library board
The library has been a major part of Steve Gaughran’s life, even before he moved to Seaford in 1960. Gaughran, 81, recently wrapped up a 17-year tenure on the Seaford Public Library board of trustees. Because of health reasons, he stepped down on Dec. 31, six months before his term was set to expire. more

This Year the Wantagh Preservation Society celebrates the 50th anniversary of the move of the old train station, which became the local history museum. Ed Hoey watched as the station was trucked up Wantagh Avenue on Sept. 22, 1966.
