Molloy College announced on Nov. 10 that Joseph Fennessy has joined its board of trustees.
Fennessy is co-chair of the Mount Sinai South Nassau board of directors, as well as a retired partner and former chief operating officer for Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Northeast Region. During his 41-year Deloitte career, he also served as the managing partner of Deloitte’s Long Island office and partner-in-charge of the Northeast Region healthcare practice.

When then-Secretary of State Colin Powell visited Molloy College in Rockville Centre for a forum on April 29, 2005, he spoke to attendees about international affairs and expressed the importance of diversity across the world. Though he died on Oct. 18 at 84 from complications of Covid-19, many people who witnessed his speech still remember his message 16 years later.

Dr. James Lentini was welcomed to Molloy College as its seventh president on Sept. 23, at a mass and ceremony at St. Agnes Cathedral. Lentini, a Michigan native, addressed the gathering at the church and outlined his vision for the future of the school, including possibly rebranding it Molloy University.

After an extensive search, Dr. Michelle Piskulich was selected to the position of provost and vice president of academic affairs at Molloy College and will begin her appointment on Aug. 23. Piskulich was previously a senior associate provost at Oakland University, and the college’s search committee was assisted by the Storbeck Search firm, in selecting her out of nearly 100 applicants.

Rockville Centre resident LaTonja Lee is the first Black female athletic trainer at Molloy College, but being a trailblazer isn’t enough for her. She said her goal is to help youth in underserved areas by teaching them what it’s like to be an athletic trainer and educating them about healthy living.
