It’s tax time in Seaford. At its Aug. 14 meeting, the Board of Education approved a resolution that will allow the district to collect more than $50 million in property taxes. The action approved allowed the district clerk to file a certified copy of the resolution with the County Legislature and the Department of Assessment by Friday.

One hundred trees along Seaman’s Neck Road are on the chopping block. On July 30, the Nassau County Department of Public Works began a sidewalk improvement project that requires the canopy of trees along Seaman’s Neck Road in North Wantagh to be removed.

The Seaford Kiwanis Club is back, and its new leaders say it’s here to stay. After a five-year hiatus, the organization was recently re-chartered, and already has 16 members who are looking to make a difference in Seaford. The club is planning projects to benefit children in the community.
