The Nassau County Unprotected Woodlands Taskforce discussed plans for an upcoming “Envirothon” at a meeting on Monday. The Nassau County Department of Public Works is shipping raw sewage from the Bay Park treatment plant in East Rockaway to this pumping station on Merrick Road in Merrick. The sewage is then piped to the Cedar Creek treatment plant in Wantagh. The plan is a temporary fix for mechanical problems at Bay Park.
