The owner of a proposed cabaret club in Wantagh has filed a federal suit against the Town of Hempstead, claiming that the denial of the business’s application for a cabaret license is in violation of its civil rights.

With some creative lighting and colorful tablecloths, students transformed the school cafeteria into a cozy cabaret lounge, showcasing the musical talents of dozens of high school students. The charity event, which was sponsored by the Lynbrook High School Tri-M Music Honor Society, raised much-needed funds for the food pantries at St. Raymond’s Church in East Rockaway and Our Lady of Peace Church of Lynbrook. Last year’s Cabaret Night raised approximately $2,000 for these local non-denominational food pantries.
