Nassau County’s latest gun buy back program, held at Shiloh Baptist Church on N. Centre Avenue last Saturday morning, got 173 illegal operable guns off the street. The five buy back events in different Nassau County communities have so far collected over 1,470 weapons. Law enforcement pays $200 for each gun, and $14,600 has been distributed to date — money that has been seized from criminals. more
In a bid to get illegal guns off the street, this Saturday, Jan. 30, between 9 a.m. and noon, the Nassau County DA’s office and county police department, in conjunction with the Village of Rockville Centre and its police department, will hold a gun buyback program at Shiloh Baptist Church, 96 N. Centre Ave. Gun owners who want to surrender their illegal, operable handguns will be able to, anonymously and with no questions asked, and will receive $200. more
