Menswear designer John Bartlett held another pet adoption event at his namesake store at Charles and 7th Ave. South on April 17. In conjunction with North Shore Animal League America, Bartlett hosted the event with hundreds of pet lovers stopping by to ooh and awww -- and to even give some of the cute dogs and cats new, loving homes.

Last Friday, I saw the flashing lights of a police car shining into our living room window. I looked out and saw a police officer and two other men who had gotten out of their cars, all trying to entice a large and frightened dog. I suspect they were trying to read his collar, which told us that he belonged to someone and could be far away from home.

The Herald was there for North Shore Animal League America's 4th annual DogCatemy Celebrity Gala in the Cipriani Ballroom in Manhattan on Novemeber 5, presented by Purina ONE. Beautiful and famous two and four-legged celebrities walked the green carpet, smiling and barking for the cameras.

Joseph Calise loves the New York Yankees. At 80 years old, Calise said he’s been rooting for the Yankees since the back end of the Babe Ruth era. He’s been to all three stadiums, and said his favorite player to watch when he was growing up was Mickey Mantle.
