North Bellmore American Legion Post 1749, American Legion Post 948 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2770 invite the community to the Bellmores’ Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27. The parade will start at Newbridge Road Elementary School, at 1601 Newbridge Road, continue south on Bellmore Avenue, west on Oak Street and south on Bedford Avenue before ending at the veterans’ memorial. The program will begin at 9 a.m. at the school. Wreaths will be presented at the veterans’ and firefighters’ monuments. Raffles and prizes will be offered. more

The sun shone down on the Bellmores as residents and veterans joined together for the community’s annual Memorial Day parade on Monday. The day began early with a wreath presentation in front of the Bellmore Veterans Memorial on Bedford Avenue, beside the Long Island Rail Road station. From there, the parade headed north on Bedford Avenue to Oak Street , before proceeding north on Bellmore Avenue. more
