Liver transplant patient George Conte, of Floral Park, consulted recently with Dr. David Bernstein, Northwell Health’s chief of hepatology, at the Sandra Atlas Bass Center for Liver Diseases at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. Conte received a new liver last August, at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx. Patients no longer need to leave Long Island for liver transplants now that Northwell offers them.
