After being re-elected in November, Supervisor Kate Murray, council members Edward Ambrosino, Angie Cullin and Jim Darcy, Town Clerk Mark Bonilla and Receiver of Taxes Donald Clavin began new terms.

A ceremony was held on Jan. 2 at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola for the inauguration of newly elected and re-elected representatives of the county's 19 districts. Two new legislators were inducted into the County Legislature: Democrats Carrié Solages and Delia DeRiggi-Whitton.

“This is very cool… and quite an honor,” new Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano said as a hundreds applauded and chanted his name on New Year’s Day. Mangano was sworn in as the eighth county executive in the auditorium of his alma mater, Bethpage High School.
