Celebrating the holidays this past season was made a bit more difficult by Hurricane Sandy, but SIBSPlace, a Hewlett-based program of South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, that serves children ages 5-17 living with a sibling or parent who has cancer or another serious or devastating illness, held a Thanksgiving feast a little more than three weeks after the storm and the hospital had its holiday party in December. more
