More than 150 district students, teachers and parents shaved their heads to raise money for The St. Baldrick's Foundation, a national organization dedicated to funding children’s cancer research. More than 100 local residents cycled through The Shop in Elmont on Dec. 12 for "Haircuts for Elmont Firefighter Richard Schriefer," a fundraiser for a Franklin Square resident and ex-chief of the Elmont Fire Department.
