Allen Jenkins, 55, of Farmingdale, had a near-death experience on April 5, at 9:33 a.m., when he found himself trapped inside his Jeep Cherokee. Jenkins was driving eastbound on the Southern State Parkway, east of Exit 31, when he drove off the right shoulder of the parkway and struck a pole. Jenkins was unable to get out of his vehicle, which began to catch fire. more
