The East Rockaway Fire Department was called to a fire in progress at 200 Main Street Wednesday night. The three residents, one of whom called in the fire, were waiting outside of their home, all safe, when firemen arrived. The firefighters did, however, rescue a mother cat and her three kittens from the second floor of the home.
