Aaron Birnbaum, who graduated from Kennedy High School on June 23, has played viola at area nursing homes, participated in the school’s environmental club and his synagogue’s youth group, raised money for cancer research through Relay for Life and coached younger students’ reading. Cougar Nation had a lot to smile about last Sunday. All of Bellmore-Merrick’s seniors celebrated their high school experiences while looking forward to the future at commencement exercises for Calhoun, Kennedy and Mepham on June 23. For the third straight year, the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District held three separate graduation ceremonies at the NYCB Theater in Westbury, and officials said that each school had about 335 graduates. more
