It's the heart of the Nassau County Police Department's Heroin Task Force. Much of what happens here is kept under wraps. Police asked that the address be kept confidential. The following is what authorities can share.

A 22-year-old woman had the scare of her life early this morning as the car she was in was hijacked — at gunpoint — from the parking lot of Taco Bell, 570 Sunrise Highway at 2:18 a.m.

The Bank of America on Main Street in East Rockaway was robbed late Tuesday afternoon for the second time in three months. Police detectives investigated at the scene as a police helicopter flew overhead.
Fourth precinct police described the man as being white, wearing a blue, sleeveless shirt, with a crew-cut hair style and looking "like a construction worker." They said he may have gotten into a red car. They did not reveal if a weapon was used in the robbery, or how much money was taken.
