Summer by the bay

Baldwin Chamber celebrates summer with waterfront barbecue at Bay Colony

The Baldwin Chamber of Commerce brought members, friends and local officials together Aug. 5 for an evening of food, music and waterfront views at Bay Colony Beach.

The chamber hosted its summer barbecue along Baldwin Bay as part of its “Baldwin Chamber Gives Back” celebration. Chamber board members pitched in throughout the evening, serving food and drinks and providing entertainment for those gathered by the water.

Board member Sean Gleason took charge of the grill, with assistance from Jim Capozzi, serving up summer favorites including burgers and hot dogs. Board member DJ Lyndell provided music as attendees relaxed and enjoyed the sea air.

Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé and Assemblywoman Judy Griffin also joined chamber members and guests for the festivities.

Bay Colony Beach, overlooking Baldwin Bay, provided a waterfront setting for the gathering, giving attendees an opportunity to socialize outside of the chamber’s usual business and networking events.

The barbecue was free for chamber members and one guest, with additional guests invited to attend for a fee. The chamber encouraged participants to bring their own beverages while food and entertainment were provided.

The event was held at Bay Colony Beach on Bay Front Place in Baldwin.
