Baldwin High School@Shubert Class of 2024 graduates, Tristan Allen and Davianna Hill received scholarships totaling $18,000 each. In addition to receiving this scholarship, Hill was asked to deliver the Student Commencement Address at the graduation ceremony on June 26, where she shared her story.

Through a collaboration of Nassau Boards of Cooperative Educational Services and the Simon Youth Foundation, students in grades 9 through 12 can fulfill State graduation requirements by earning Career and Technical Education credits. The SYF, a national nonprofit committed to helping students graduate by focusing on providing educational opportunities, career development, and life skills, offers scholarships that students in the Shubert program can apply for.

“The generosity of Simon Youth Foundation in supporting our graduates is undisputed, and the two $18,000 scholarships received by our graduates this year will go far in securing their continued education and bright futures,” Crea wrote in a news release.

The scholarship winners were selected based on their required application, which was reviewed by SYC’s committee, and a recommendation given by their principal, Patrick Crea.

Tristan will attend Monroe College in New Rochelle in the fall to study business. Hill, who has started her cookie-baking venture, plans to attend culinary school next year.
