Baldwin High School students showcased the skills and experience they gained through internships and career-focused learning during the school's third annual School2Career Showcase.

The event featured seniors enrolled in the district's Senior Experience and Internship programs, who presented capstone projects and reflected on the real-world learning opportunities they completed throughout the school year. The programs are designed to connect classroom learning with future careers while strengthening skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration and problem-solving.

Students in the Senior Experience program completed internships and interdisciplinary coursework with organizations including NYU Langone Health, local architecture firms, the office of State Sen. Siela Bynoe and the office of Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé. Internship students also shared their experiences at placements such as the Nassau County Police Academy and the Cradle of Aviation Museum.

“The School2Career Showcase is the culminating event of a year-long program that provides students with transformative learning opportunities, preparing them for the next stage of their lives after high school,” Assistant Director of Instructional Programs Gabriella Franza said in a statement.

Franza credited teachers Christopher Soupios, Christopher Russo, Jason Rudish and Brendan Malin with developing the curriculum and coordinating industry placements.

The showcase drew district administrators, teachers, families, mentors, business partners and community members, who viewed student presentations and exhibits highlighting their professional growth.

Superintendent Anthony Mignella said the event demonstrated the value of career-connected learning.

“The School2Career Showcase highlighted the power of authentic learning and the incredible impact of collaboration among our educators, staff and community partners,” Mignella said. “Through these meaningful experiences, Baldwin students were able to apply their learning, develop future-ready skills and showcase their talents.”
