Baldwin's Brookside School to be featured on CNN's 'Race in America' series

Brookside School students took part in a re-enacted landmark experiment for CNN’s “Race in America” series on March 25. Eight Brookside students from kindergarten and grade 4 were asked to look at black and white dolls and answer a series of questions about their perceptions of the dolls.

News anchor Anderson Cooper also visited Brookside that day to speak with the students, and some of their parents were later interviewed by CNN as well. For this program, CNN tested students from schools across the country to gauge whether results may now be different than the original 1940s study, which showed the negative impact of racism and segregation on children.

The series will begin Friday, May 14, at 11 p.m. and continue from Monday, May 17, through Thursday, May 20, at 10 p.m.
