In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Baldwin Public Library hosted a vibrant “Make Your Own Nachos” event on Sept. 21.
Library patrons crafted their own nachos, complete with fresh guacamole. Led by the talented Chefs of d’Future, participants not only enjoyed tasty treats but also learned about the cultural significance of the dish.
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated in the United States from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. The observation started as Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968, initiated by President Lyndon B. Johnson. It was later expanded to a month-long celebration in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.
