Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé and Legislator Scott M. Davis recently visited the Baldwin Scout House to discuss ways to support the century-old community gathering place.

Mulé and Davis met with Sanitation District 2 Commissioner John Cools at the site, which has served generations of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Baldwin and nearby communities.

“This century-old cabin house has been utilized by Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops for many decades to bond and develop skills that will serve them well throughout their lives,” Mulé said. “Legislator Davis and I are committed to doing all we can to identify opportunities for the County to support the enhancement of the Baldwin Scout House so it can be a resource for future generations.”

Davis said the Scout House remains an important place for young people to build leadership skills and a commitment to service.

“The Baldwin Scout House is a storied venue where those experiences have been cultivated for generations, and I am ready to roll up my sleeves alongside Legislator Mulé and community stakeholders to keep this local treasure vibrant for many years to come,” Davis said.
