RELAY FOR LIFE OF BALDWIN

Relay for Life of Baldwin plans May 6 meeting

Posted

As preparations continue for this year’s Relay for Life of Baldwin, community members are invited to attend an upcoming planning meeting on Tuesday, May 6, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Baldwin Public Library.

The meeting will help organizers finalize details for the annual Relay for Life event, scheduled for June 13 at Baldwin Park.

Volunteers, team captains, cancer survivors, caregivers and residents interested in supporting the cause are encouraged to attend. Organizers will discuss fundraising efforts, team recruitment, sponsorship opportunities, entertainment, survivor recognition and other event logistics as the communitywide fundraiser draws closer.

Relay for Life of Baldwin has long been one of the community’s signature annual events, bringing together residents to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to the disease and raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The June 13 relay at Baldwin Park will once again feature walking teams, luminaria tributes and activities designed to honor those impacted by cancer while funding research, advocacy and patient support programs.

Organizers say the May 6 meeting is open to both longtime participants and newcomers looking to volunteer, form a team or contribute in other ways.

With just weeks remaining before the event, the planning session will serve as an important opportunity for the Baldwin community to come together and continue a longstanding tradition of hope, remembrance and action in the fight against cancer.

For more information, residents can attend the meeting at the Baldwin Public Library on May 6.
