Voters approved the proposed $178 million East Meadow School District budget on Tuesday. In official results late Tuesday night, there were 2,389 votes in favor of the budget, and 1,573 were opposed. Expenses are to rise by 1.7 percent, while the tax levy is anticipated to increase by 1.3 percent.
