EMHS boys’ winter track captures conference title

The East Meadow High School boys’ winter track and field team finished in first place in the Nassau County Conference II championships on Jan. 15, outperforming eight other schools. The team accumulated 105.5. points across a variety of events, finishing 6.5 points ahead of runner-up Port Washington. more

When Pete Seeger died on Jan. 27, at age 94, the world mourned the loss of an American folk icon and activist. Seeger wrote classics including “Turn! Turn! Turn!” and “If I Had a Hammer,” was a founder of the Newport Folk Festival, and gave countless memorable performances over the decades — including one at W.T. Clarke High School in 1967. more

With five minutes remaining in the quarter, in stepped Rich Ohrnberger, a five-year NFL veteran, a three-year starter at Penn State University, and a 2004 East Meadow High School graduate. more
