Bowling Green student wins poster contest

Nyla Batista, a third grader and member of the Bee Green Club at Bowling Green Elementary School in East Meadow, participated in Covanta’s 21st Annual Recycling Poster Contest. This year’s theme was “How to Make the World a Better Place.”

Nyla was one of 30 student participants from the Bee Green Club who submitted their artwork to the poster contest. She won with her poster “Bee Green – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle,” designed in colorful glitter. Nyla was honored at Covanta’s awards ceremony June 6.
