Buongusto Piesanos offers a taste of Italy

Posted

A little more than a year ago, Francesco Amorelli introduced East Meadow to his Italian eatery, Buongusto Piesanos.

Amorelli's restaurant was a popular stop for nearly 19 years in its former home of Roslyn, then known solely as "Buongusto."

Not much has changed, except for the new location, Amorelli said — his head chef and most staff members came along with him to East Meadow.

Amorelli, who grew up in Salerno, Italy and now lives in East Rockaway with his family, said his restaurant concentrates on delivering tasty Italian meals with fresh ingredients, friendly service and pristine cleanliness. The restaurant offers diners an open, relaxed atmosphere where you will never feel rushed, Amorelli explained.

Buongusto Piesanos (which means “good taste, friend”) serves a menu of specialties that cover favorites from both Northern and Southern Italy — from handmade tortellini to veal scaloppini to fettucine with assorted seafood. Piesanos also serves a variety of pizzas, including a square grandma pizza that combines fresh pieces of tomato and homemade mozzarella.

For the health-conscious, Piesanos also offer customers the option to order whole wheat and gluten-free pastas.

Buongusto Piesanos offers both on and off premise catering and creates special dishes upon request.

Buongusto Piesanos is located on 2330 Hempstead Turnpike in the Meadowbrook Shopping Center, next to Uncle Giuseppes. There is free parking at the shopping center. Free delivery is also available. The phone number for Piesanos  is (516) 796-2500.
