Cops: struggle involving weapon leads to arrest

An East Meadow man was arrested in Freeport on Thursday morning.
According to detectives, at about 10:30 a.m., Richard Mark Camberdella, 23, of East Meadow, became involved in a heated argument with a 47-year-old male. While pointing a silver .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol, the defendant verbally threatened the victim, police said.

Detectives said a struggle ensued and the victim was able to secure the weapon and contact police. No injuries were reported.

Camberdella was charged with second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon and second-degree Menacing, police said, and is scheduled for arraignment on Friday.
