East Meadow driver charged with DWI

Police report that on Saturday at approximately 2:15 a.m., troopers observed an East Meadow man driving a 2006 Mercedes Benz westbound on the Southern State Parkway at a speed of 85 mph in a 55 mph zone, and changing lanes without signaling. Police stopped his car near exit 32. Subsequent investigation revealed the driver to be intoxicated, according to police, and he was then placed under arrest. He was transported to the Police Troop headquarters in Farmingdale where he provided a breath sample of .09 percent blood alcohol content. He was charged with DWI, speeding and other traffic violations returnable to Suffolk County First District Court.
