East Meadow Fire Department looking for recruits

Volunteers are needed at the East Meadow Fire Department Station No. 4, which is at the corner of Bob Reed Lane and Carman Avenue in Salisbury. Training will be provided to anyone who wishes to become an emergency medical technician and/or firefighter.

There are several Sadvantages to becoming a member of the EMFD. It’s an opportunity to become a member of a larger family and for homeowners, receive a property tax discount after five years of service. And scholarships are available to attend Nassau Community College for younger volunteers. Also, EMFD members can enroll in the New York state LOSAP Pension Program.
