East Meadow man is accused of murder

Police said an East Meadow man was arrested yesterday for a murder he committed last week.

According to detectives, Herber Guzman, 40, is accused of shooting 47-year-old Stanley Cater on April 26.

Police found Cater lying on the street on Martin Avenue in Hempstead. He was transported to Nassau County Medical Center and pronounced dead by emergency-room staff, said police.


Guzman is charged with second-degree murder.
