A massive water main break impacted East Meadow Thursday afternoon, but according to the Town of Hempstead Water Department, service has been restored to affected homes and the East Meadow Beth-El Jewish Center.
Prospect Avenue in East Meadow remains closed in both directions between Evergreen Lane and Chestnut Lane.
Town of Hempstead crews are still working to fix the portion of the road that partially collapsed. A 12-inch water main broke.
It is unclear how long it may take to fully fix the road, but there's hopes it could reopen for use on Friday.
