First graders at Parkway Elementary School in East Meadow recently completed a unit on early American civilizations.

First graders at Parkway Elementary School in East Meadow recently completed a unit on early American civilizations.
Students worked at different stations in each classroom as they learned about sophisticated civilizations such as the Maya, Inca, Olmec and Aztec societies.
First graders also crafted and wore decorative crowns as part of the festivities. The various stations included writing, themed games and plenty of hands-on activities.
